Comox Harbour Marina
Comox Municipal Marina and Comox Bay Marina
Located on the East Coast of Vancouver Island, Canada, the Comox Harbour has provided shelter for ships since the late 1800′s.  Today it is home to a large commercial fishing fleet and a sizable number of pleasure craft.  Nestled beneath the Beaufort Mountains and the Comox Glacier the Comox Harbour has spectacular views.

Comox Fisherman's Wharf
Boaters traveling Georgia Strait, The Gulf Islands, and Baynes Sound will find moorage, marine services and tourist facilities to make their marine cruise more enjoyable. The Comox dock is just minutes walking from downtown Comox with plenty of shops and a mall, a 9-hole golf course, and 2 marine pubs! Fish is often available directly from the fishermen at the Fish Sales dock.

                                         Dragon Boat
 Dragon Boat at Comox Marina

History Of Breast Cancer Dragon Boating
In 1986, the Chinese delegation of Expo ‘86 gifted Vancouver, BC with six teak dragon boats. In 1996, Dr. Don McKenzie from the University of British Columbia, in conjunction with physiotherapist and breast cancer survivor, Dr. Susan Harris, formed the first breast cancer survivor dragon boat team in Vancouver.
It was their intent to prove that upper body exercise has a large role in the recovery from breast cancer and lymphedema because it can improve range of motion, reverse muscle atrophy, stimulate the immune system and activate the skeletal muscle. Previously, women were told not to exercise after breast surgery. Since 1996, dragon boating has grown to be an international sport with breast cancer survivor teams being an important part of each festival.
